Marcher Pottery Company? - Made in USA since 1848

I own two 12" oval platters with a swirled, gold-trimmed border, depicting two men & a woman in 18th century dress. The marks on the backs appears to say The Marcher Pottery Company, Quality Made in the USA since 1848. The marks are faded, so that's my best guess on the name of the pottery manufacturer & how long ago it was founded. Can you help me identify these & tell me how old they might be? Thanks so much!
