Help Identify Pottery Crocks/Jugs Please

by Brian
(Michigan)

I have four older crock jugs that I need help identifying and finding value. The one is relatively easy (Western Stoneware)but the others are not as easy. There are two with star marks. 1-two gal. jug and 1- three gal. jug, the final and most intriguing one is the 2 gal. Heart stamped jug. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I live in Oregon and have been trying to find the maker of the blue circle star. I have one with an eight in the center. I have seen several times that it's thought to be the star stoneware. Does anyone know for sure ? It was my at least my great grandmothers. And I would love to o know. aprildurheim@gmail.com

Maple leaf
by: Doug

You're right on the crocks with the circle star on them there from the Crooksville pottery in Ohio. The only other pottery is one in Texas, but being in Michigan as you are I'd bet Crooksville. Now the maple leaf one I'd say is from one of the early Red Wing pottery's Monmouth,Il. they used the maple leaf on their ware. I'm sorry but I don't know about the heart one ,good luck from a Michigan native.
