Help ID American pottery mark - M H W (photo)

I found this rather elegantly-shaped jug at a yard sale recently, and wondered where it was made. The mark is

M H W Aug 27 1959

I paid less than 50 cents for it, but I liked the colors and the style. Can you help identify where it was made and by whom?
